Elisabetta Tonello studied at the universities of Padua and Ferrara and today she is Associate Professor in Italian literature at the e.Campus university. She mainly deals with the history of the tradition of the text of the Commedia and the classification of over 600 surviving manuscripts, but she has also worked on Boccaccio, Monteverdi and Gozzano and on medieval juggling. She is about to publish, with the research team directed by Paolo Trovato, a new critical edition of Dante's Inferno.
