Rodolfo Costa’s research focus has been the study of the genetic/molecular features and the physiological outputs of the biological clock in different organisms. He is also active in the field of functional genomics, utilizing the fruit fly as a model to study mitochondrial diseases. He is Past President of the Italian Association for Genetics, and member of the European and American Societies for Biological Rhythms. He is Editor in Chief of the section Chronobiology of Frontiers in Physiology.
